Yesterday Steam put out an update to release the Steam Community. I was in the middle of playing Supreme Commander and I was halted by steams thirst to be center of attention. Of course I had just pre purchased Orange Box and was waiting for Team Fortress 2 to preload, but no change was made. Steam Downloaded it’s client updates but nothing happened so I went to bed since it was 2 am. When I got up steam was closed. So I opened it and noticed it goes to update but skips the process then goes to the games. My Steam News and store windows are white and fail to load. Plus Near half my Valve related games needs updated but cannot connect to the server. So I went to file and told it to look for client updates. Sure as shit it finds one and starts downloading. So I go do other things, like work on my online class research assignment. I come back 2 hours later it’s still updating. What it did was go to 99% then back to 0%. What the Fuck?

I didn’t know what to do so I left it go and start to play Supreme Commander, around 3 pm I tab out to see it’s progress and find that steam is gone, it removed itself. Then Supreme Commander vanishes from being minimized and I notice all my games are vanishing. On my game computer I install everything on a separate drive with 500Gigs of space. Steam was in it’s own directory yet it removed all my installed games on the entire drive.

Curious what games I lost? Every one on my Xfire list. They were all installed there. Including my Garrys mod stuff. All gone. For the most part those kinds of things like saved data, new maps and my gmod stuff are all backed up but the fact that steam went out of it’s way to purge my system of every game is fucked up and now I am sad inside.
